Blues Ensemble Workshop (Hybrid)
This workshop will focus on performing blues-style music, learning the 12 bar blues form, basic improvisation techniques, improvising etiquette when performing with a band, blues scale in multiple keys, Dominant 7 chords, and a brief history of the blues and how it’s influenced modern music.
This workshop does have an audition requirement. Students auditioning for this workshop should be able to perform the following:
– I-IV-V7 Chords in 4 keys
– Major Scale and/or Natural Minor scale in 4 keys
– Should have a minimum of 2 years of instruction on their instrument
– Play chord changes for “The Thrill is Gone”—B.B. King

Auditions need to be submitted no later than Wednesday, September 16, 2020
Instrumentalists for the following instruments are encouraged to audition for this workshop:
A final recording will be available on-demand showcasing the music the students learned during the workshop.
Tuition – $400
This is a hybrid class-a mixture of virtual and live lessons held at the Denver Studio in the Sanctuary. Students will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced in accordance with state & health official guidelines.
Virtual Class: Every Thursday starting 9/24 – 10/29 | 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Live Class: Every Sunday starting 9/20 – 9/25 | 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Final Performance: Available on-demand starting on October 31, 2020 @ 8pm
