Orchestra Workshop (Hybrid)

$400.00

Music will be provided to students on the first day of class and practiced during each rehearsal. A final recording will be available on-demand showcasing the music the students learned during the workshop.

Tuition – $400

Beginner:
This is a hybrid class-a mixture of virtual and live lessons held at the Denver Studio in the Sanctuary.  Students will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced in accordance with state & health official guidelines.

Prerequisite:
– 
4 month experience in school ensemble and/or private lessons
– 1st poistion on all 4 strings
– Ability to distinguish between a ‘good tone’ and ‘bad tone’
– Understaning of quarter, half and whole note values
– Ability to reach First Position notes on the staff
– Ability to play 2-3 basic tunes, such as “Mary Had A Little Lamb” and “Hot Cross Buns”
– Parents on hand to assist with tuning

Virtual Class: Every Wednesday starting 9/23 – 10/28 | 5:00pm – 6:00pm
Live Class:  Every Sunday starting 9/20 – 10/25  | 11:00am – 12:00pm
Final Performance:  Available on-demand starting on October 30, 2020 @ 7pm

Intermediate:
This is a hybrid class-a mixture of virtual and live lessons held at the Denver Studio in the Sanctuary.  Students will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced in accordance with state & health official guidelines.

Prerequisite: Required for all non-MMI Students

– 2 or more years experience in school orchestra and/or private lessons
– Major Scales: Violinists: G, D, A: one octave , up and down; G: 2 octaves; Cellists, Violists: C, G, D one octave; C: 2 Octaves
– Ability to tune own instrument
– Ability to judge basic intonation – flat, sharp
– Ability to judge and adjust tone quality
– Understanding of eighth, triplet and dotted rhythms
– Understanding of 4/4, 2/4 and 3/4 time signatures
– Completion of Suzuki Book 1 (or equivalent)
– Basic sight-reading

Virtual Class:  Every Wednesday starting 9/23 – 10/28 | 6:30pm – 7:30pm & Every Sunday starting 9/20 – 10/11 | 12:30pm – 1:30pm
Live Class:  On Sunday 10/18 & 10/25 |  12:30pm – 1:30pm
Final Performance:  Available on demand starting on October 31, 2020 @ 7pm
